Sri LAnka
Yoga Retreat
The
retreat
Back to basics made easy in this glorious country!
Out of a crumbly, empty old house we've fashioned something we hope will make an ideal sanctuary, both for those wanting extended retreat space and those just seeking a shorter escape in the hills.
those that will appreciate really great, healthy Sri Lankan food...active, occasionally even adventurous, days...and a uniquely restorative spot.
lovely Shala. We've used mature teak from a nearby estate to give a warm, natural feel and framed the structure against a natural rock wall. On one side the Shala looks down through the trees and on towards the lake. Open on all sides, and with a nice high ceiling there's a great feeling of space; it can comfortably accommodate 18 students plus a teacher.
and be lulled by the sound of the waves on the beach, coconut tree leaves whispering and swinging to the soft coastal breeze and the breathtaking views on the coast of Senegal. Known as the “Petite Côte” (the small coast), Senegal is situated in the westernmost part of Africa, along the Atlantic Ocean. We will be retreating to a boutique style lodge with 8 traditional huts for a 7 night all-inclusive adventure. All rooms offer a rustic-chic experience, and are made with natural Senegalese materials: wood, daub, straw and Tadelakt. Beds are chiselled into tree trunks and curtains are sewn in kuba fabric from the Congo. Our lodge offers locally sourced food, relaxing nooks and an outdoor yoga platform by the ocean where retreaters can soak up the views and sounds from the sea during practice. Nearby optional adventures that promise to take your yoga off the mat include visits to the market, sailing, horseback riding, hiking, hammocking on the beach and a safari visit.
