30 day yoga
Challenge
December 1 - 30 2020
I don't always love yoga. Sometimes it feels like naval gazing, sometimes it feels trite, and sometimes it feels simplistic in its prescriptive nature to cure all things. But I always, always, always love how it makes me feel, think and act.
I don't always feel like practicing. Sometimes I'm bored by it and sometimes I'm too tired to get on the mat. But after practicing I'm always happy I did. Grateful in fact. There hasn't been a time, not once, in my 20 years of practice where I regret having taken a class. Good odds.
I don't always practice regularly. But when I do, it's super clear to me that having a regular practice brings health and well being into my life. Not to mention, practice is never the same on any one day. I'm never the same. So the practice of meeting myself on the mat is literally evolving and ever-changing every time.
Our practice is a deeper knowing of ourselves and it's in that practice state that we experience ourselves and our life as a journey, not a destination. Through that journey, we get to choose our road. A road that lets us take in the scenery while experiencing a necessary pause.
As we embark on this final month of 2020, this crazy and profoundly unchartered year, I invite you to get to know and be with yourself on your own terms. Determine and define for yourself, without the whirlwind, what saying good bye to this year means to you.
December 2020 is sure to look and feel different than other December's. Holiday parties and gatherings won't be the same if at all and shop till you drop mayhem may not be possible (I personally LOVE the idea of that); but can we take this month by the wheel and make it work for us? Steer it in the right direction - our direction...
